Resumen

Objetivo principal: Determinar la influencia del estado emocional materno en el volumen de leche extraído y en la tasa de lactancia materna. Metodología: Estudio descriptivo transversal en población de puérperas con hijo ingresado en neonatología del Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla. Resultados principales: Las madres con sentimientos positivos durante la extracción, se extraen una mediana de 105ml al 4ºdía de vida y tienen una tasa de lactancia materna al mes del 43,8% frente a 53,5ml y 25,5% respectivamente que tienen las que mostraron sentimientos negativos. Madres con riesgo de depresión postparto se extraen una mediana de 85ml al 4ºdia de vida y tasa de lactancia materna al mes de 33,3% mientras que las que no muestran riesgo se extraen 105ml y tienen una tasa de lactancia del 48,2%. Conclusión principal: El estado emocional influye en la cantidad de leche extraída y en la tasa de lactancia al mes.

Abstract

Objective: To determine the influence of maternal emotional state on the volume of milk expressed and the rate of breastfeeding. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study in a population of postpartum mothers with a child admitted to the neonatology unit of the HUM Valdecilla. Results: Mothers with positive feelings during expression expressed a median of 105 ml on the 4th day of life and had a breastfeeding rate at one month of 43.8% compared to 53.5 ml and 25.5% respectively for those with negative feelings. Mothers at risk of postpartum depression expressed a median of 85 ml at the 4th day of life and had a breastfeeding rate at one month of 33.3% while those not at risk expressed 105 ml and had a breastfeeding rate of 48.2%. Conclusions: Emotional state influences the amount of milk expressed and the rate of breastfeeding per month.
