Resumen

Este estudio aborda la resistencia antimicrobiana (RAM) desde el enfoque One Health, que integra la salud humana, animal y ambiental. La investigación se justifica debido a la creciente amenaza global que representa la RAM, la cual afecta tanto a humanos como a animales. El objetivo principal es evaluar las estrategias actuales para reducir la RAM mediante una revisión bibliográfica de estudios relacionados, centrados en la reducción del uso de antibióticos y la mejora de la vigilancia en salud pública. Se empleó una metodología de revisión bibliográfica descriptiva, buscando estudios en bases de datos científicas que incluyeran datos intersectoriales sobre la RAM. Los resultados destacan la relación entre el uso de antibióticos en la ganadería y la diseminación de bacterias resistentes, afectando gravemente a la salud humana y al medioambiente. Además, se subraya la importancia de las políticas globales y la cooperación internacional para controlar esta amenaza. Las conclusiones indican que la RAM seguirá siendo un desafío global si no se toman medidas efectivas y que el enfoque One Health es necesario para una respuesta integral y sostenible

Abstract

This study addresses antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through the One Health approach, which integrates human, animal and environmental health. The research is justified by the growing global threat posed by AMR, affecting both humans and animals. The main objective is to evaluate current strategies to reduce AMR through a bibliographic review of related studies, focusing on reducing antibiotic use and improving public health surveillance. A descriptive bibliographic review methodology was used, searching for studies in scientific databases that include cross-sectoral data on AMR. The results highlight the relationship between the use of antibiotics in livestock and the spread of resistant bacteria, severely affecting both human health and the environment. Additionally, the importance of global policies and international cooperation to control this threat is emphasized. The conclusions indicate that AMR will remain a global challenge unless effective measures are taken, and the One Health approach is key to an integrated and sustainable response
