Resumen

El suicidio es uno de los problemas de salud pública más importantes en todo el mundo en la actualidad. Este problema se agravó en 2020 debido a la pandemia mundial de Covid-19 que produjo un aumento de las tasas de suicidio especialmente en la población adolescente. Con el objetivo de analizar la conducta suicida en los adolescentes en el ámbito escolar y las actuaciones para prevenir y tratar esta conducta se decidió realizar un estudio descriptivo, mediante una revisión bibliográfica. Para manejar y prevenir la conducta suicida el primer paso es evaluar el riesgo de suicidio con una valoración holística, utilizando la entrevista y las escalas de valoración del riesgo de suicidio. Esto permite identificar los factores de riesgo y protectores que guiarán el abordaje, mediante el desarrollo de intervenciones preventivas o psicoterapéuticas. El ámbito ideal para desarrollar las intervenciones son los centros educativos donde existe una figura clave que es la enfermera escolar. Existe la necesidad de mejorar la atención al suicido, para ello es importante la detección y evaluación precoz de los adolescentes en riesgo y establecer los centros escolares como el escenario ideal para desarrollar las intervenciones, que deben ser impartidos por la enfermera escolar

Abstract

Suicide is one of the most important public health problems world-wide at present. This problem got worse in 2020 due to global COVID pandemic and the consequent mitigation strategies. Therefore, an increase in suicide rates occurred, especially in adolescent population. The aim of this descriptive study (through a bibliographic review) was to analyze suicidal behaviour in adolescents at school environment, with the objective of examining measures to prevent and treat it. To manage and prevent suicidal behaviour the first step is to assess risk of suicide with a holistic evaluation, using clinical interview and suicide risk scales as fundamental tools. This assessment will allow to identify risk and protective factors that will guide the approach to suicidal behavior afterwards, by the development of preventive or psychotherapeutic interventions. Education centers are the ideal places for the implementation of this interventions because there are school nurses as key figures and the environment allows to reach all adolescents efficiently. In conclusion, there is a need to improve suicide care. With this aim, detection and early assessment in adolescents at risk are important. The ideal environment to develop preventive and intervention programs are schools, where these programs must be carried out by school nurses
