Resumen

El uso de internet y de redes sociales es muy común, especialmente entre la población joven. Objetivo: conocer la percepción de los estudiantes de enfermería sobre el uso profesional de la red social X. Métodos: estudio ex post facto de carácter descriptivo, empleando un cuestionario como instrumento de recogida de datos. La población estuvo formada por estudiantes de primer curso de enfermería entre 2020 y 2024, con una muestra total de 460 participantes. Resultados principales: solo el 26,95% usaba previamente X, principalmente para el seguimiento de noticias y entretenimiento. Tras la actividad con enfoque profesional, la percepción de los estudiantes cambió de manera positiva: un 72% la consideró adecuada para la comunicación profesional y más del 60% la valoró como un recurso útil en docencia y educación para la salud. Conclusión: X se presenta como una herramienta con potencial para fortalecer la práctica y la formación enfermera.

Abstract

The use of the internet and social media is becoming increasingly common, especially among the young population. Objective: in this context, the aim of the study was to understand nursing students' perception of the professional use of social network X. Method: A descriptive ex post facto study was designed, using a questionnaire as the data collection instrument. The population consisted of first-year nursing students between 2020 and 2024, with a total sample of 460 participants. Main results: only 26.95% had previously used X, mainly for news tracking and entertainment. After the activity with a professional focus, students' perception changed positively: 72% considered it suitable for professional communication, and more than 60% valued it as a useful resource in teaching and health education. Conclusions: X presents itself as a tool with potential to strengthen nursing practice and training.
