Resumen

El presente ensayo busca reflexionar sobre la corporalidad en la atención humanizada en salud. Existen tres elementos principales como ejes en la atención humanizada: corporalidad como elemento del cuidado humanizado; el respeto frente a la humanización del cuidado; la intimidad y dignidad del cuerpo. El cuidado humanizado, basado en corrientes fenomenológicas, valora la corporalidad y la experiencia humana en la atención sanitaria. Destaca la importancia de la empatía, dignidad, compasión y respeto, promoviendo el autocuidado y una atención equitativa. La privacidad, el entorno físico y la comunicación clara son esenciales. Esta práctica consciente reconoce al paciente como persona con derechos, emociones y pensamiento, haciendo visible su dignidad y libertad.

Abstract

The present essay seeks to reflect on corporeality within humanized healthcare. Three key elements serve as central axes of humanized care: corporeality as a constituent of humanized care, respect as a foundation for the humanization of care, and the intimacy and dignity of the body. Humanized care, grounded in phenomenological perspectives, values corporeality and human experience within healthcare delivery. It highlights the importance of empathy, dignity, compassion, and respect, while promoting self-care and equitable attention. Privacy, the physical environment, and clear communication are considered essential. This conscious practice acknowledges the patient as a person endowed with rights, emotions, and thought, thereby making visible their dignity and freedom.
