Resumen

Objetivo principal: Analizar la evidencia del empleo de registros electrónicos, comparado con el manual, para favorecer el tiempo de atención directa al paciente. Metodología: Revisión integrativa. Se efectuó una búsqueda en bases de datos de artículos primarios publicados entre 2020 y 2025. La investigación final incluyó 10 estudios. Resultados principales: Se observa que los registros electrónicos reducen significativamente el tiempo de llenado, incrementa la duración de los cuidados y disminuye de las interrupciones. El impacto en el tiempo junto al paciente es heterogéneo. Conclusión principal: La implementación de los registros electrónicos es pertinente para mejorar la eficiencia y la calidad del registro clínico. En México el éxito exige planificación, infraestructura adecuada, acompañamiento continuo y formación progresiva del personal.

Abstract

Objective: Analyze the evidence for the use of electronic records, compared to manual records, to improve the time of direct attention with the patient. Methods: Integrative review. A search was conducted in databases for primary articles published between 2020 and 2025. The research included 10 studies. Results: Electronic records have been shown to significantly reduce completion time, increase the duration of care and decrease interruptions. The impact on time spent with the patient is heterogeneous. Conclusions: The implementation of electronic records is relevant for improving the efficiency and quality of clinical documentation. In Mexico, success requires planning, adequate infrastructure, continuous support and progressive staff training.
