Resumen

Objetivo principal: Describir las experiencias de los familiares cuyos seres queridos fallecen en Urgencias o UCI de forma inesperada e identificar los cuidados que mejoraron sus experiencias. Metodología: Metasíntesis Cualitativa mediante método de Síntesis Temática. Resultados principales: Se encontraron tres necesidades principales: comprender, despedirse y ser guiados. Conclusión principal: El personal sanitario, especialmente enfermería, puede influir enormemente en las experiencias de estos familiares mediante sus cuidados.

Abstract

Objective: to describe the family experiences´ when a love one dies in the Emergency Department or in a Intensive Care Unit to a sudden and unexpected death, and to identify the care that was effective to improve them. Methods: Qualitative meta-synthesis using the thematic synthesis approach. Results: Three important themes were found: comprehend, vigil and to be guide. Conclusions: The health team can influence the experience of this families with their attitude and care and nursing care play a central role to them.
