Resumen

La tendinopatía calcificante del manguito de los rotadores es una entesopatía común entre los 30-60 años. El objetivo de este caso clínico es demostrar que el tratamiento conservador en esta patología es efectivo, sin necesidad de recurrir a la extracción quirúrgica de los depósitos de calcio. Mujer de 61 años que acude al Servicio de Rehabilitación del hospital por un intenso dolor, falta de fuerza, resistencia muscular y disminución de la funcionalidad de ambos hombros. Los resultados de este caso clínico muestran que el tratamiento rehabilitador con fisioterapia, Terapia por Ondas de Choque Extracorpóreas Radiales e Infiltraciones de Corticoides y Anestésicos puede resolver la Tendinopatía Calcificante sin necesidad de recurrir a la cirugía. Se concluye que existen procedimientos no invasivos eficaces y seguros en el abordaje terapéutico de la Tendinopatía Calcificante del Manguito Rotador, aliviando la sintomatología y manteniendo estas mejoras durante un periodo de tiempo bastante prolongado

Abstract

Calcifying tendinopathy of the rotator cuff is a common enthesopathy between 30-60 years. The objective of this clinical case is to confirm that the conservative treatment in the subscapular calcifying tendinitis is effective in the resolution of this pathology, without the need to resort to the surgical extraction of the calcium deposits. A 61-year-old woman attends the hospital's Rehabilitation Service for intense pain, lack of strength, muscular endurance, and diminished functionality of both shoulders. The results of this study show that the rehabilitative treatment with physiotherapy, radial extracorporeal shock waves therapy and infiltrations of corticosteroids and anesthetics can resolve the calcifying tendinopathy without having to resort to surgery. It is concluded that there are effective and safe noninvasive procedures in the therapeutic embroidery of calcifying tendinopathy of the rotator cuff, relieving the symptoms and maintaining these improvements over a fairly long period of time
