Resumen

Objetivo principal: analizar la influencia de la depresión durante la gestación sobre determinados resultados obstétricos y neonatales en mujeres acompañadas en atención primaria. Metodología: estudio observacional de cohorte prospectiva en mujeres gestantes que acudieron a sesiones de Educación Maternal entre 2018 y 2021. La depresión perinatal se evaluó mediante la Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Se recogieron variables sociodemográficas y datos obstétricos y neonatales mediante un formulario estructurado. El análisis estadístico se realizó con el programa IBM SPSS®( Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), versión 24.0. Resultados principales: participaron 140 mujeres. El 18,6% presentó sospecha de depresión prenatal. Se observaron asociaciones significativas con antecedentes psiquiátricos previos (p=0,002; p=0,006). Conclusión: no se encontraron asociaciones entre la depresión prenatal y los resultados obstétricos y neonatales evaluados.

Abstract

Objective: to analyze the influence of depression during pregnancy on selected obstetric and neonatal outcomes in women receiving care in primary care settings. Methods: a prospective observational cohort study was conducted in pregnant women attending antenatal education sessions. Perinatal depression was assessed using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Sociodemographic variables and obstetric and neonatal data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS® (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), version 24.0. Results: 140 women participated. 18.6% presented suspected prenatal depression. Significant associations were observed with previous psychiatric history (p=0.002; p=0.006). Conclusions: no associations were found between prenatal depression and the obstetric and neonatal outcomes evaluated.
